Meet Melissa, Founder of Deliciously Fit

Deliciously Fit is the result of my experience working with women who had managed to lose their sense of self after having kids. They were longing to lose the baby weight and wanting to regain their identity. Taking care of everyone around them first, they felt they had given up and “let themselves go.” It’s a common story, and one that I struggled against as I learned to balance life with my first child.

Even though I have changed in countless ways since becoming a mom of two little ones, I’m still a woman who loves to stay fit, eat good food, keep up with fashion, have a pedicure every now and then, and catch up with friends over cappuccinos or a glass of red wine. My family IS my world, but I prioritize taking care of myself so I can be there for them in the millions of ways that they need me.

Though I’ve always exercised, the pieces just came together when I discovered CrossFit. Suddenly the paradigm of being fit transformed into something so much more meaningful than trying to get to “the perfect size.” Totally inspired, I earned my Level 1 CrossFit Trainer Certification, as well as my ACE Personal Trainer Certification. I’m also a Wellness Coach through Wellcoaches. Moved by the determination and resiliency of my clients, I started practicing the mantra, “Being a mommy doesn’t have to mean sacrifice.” Now I’m on a personal mission to inspire other women, especially moms, to invest in themselves by leading a Deliciously Fit lifestyle.

So forget deprivation (unless you love carrot sticks and plain oatmeal), fad diets, meal plans or replacements, and embrace the good life. You can still enjoy the foods you love and be strong enough to handle whatever life throws at you. That’s what being Deliciously Fit is all about!
