Sorry I was MIA last week, but it was a hectic week with hardly any down time (all good, but just busy!). I swear, it seems that every week gets busier and busier these days! Anyhow, I’m so EXCITED about a new (to me) skincare and cosmetic line, Beautycounter, that I was introduced to by a dear friend a couple of months ago. It is a skincare company devoted to providing safer skincare and cleaner cosmetics.

I’m always on the hunt for safe skincare and cosmetics. I only by mineral based sunscreen and follow EWG’s skincare and sunscreen recommendations, because what we put on the outside of our bodies eventually effects the inside. It’s scary to read about all of the effects of the chemicals that are typically put into sunscreens that are linked to cancer. So, if I can find a product that is clean, safe and actually works, then it’s a win win in my book!

As we all know, beauty comes from within and what we put into our bodies effects what it looks like on the outside and vise versa. Good nutrition paired with healthy skincare make for a healthier being, which I’m all about!

Here are a few of my favorite Beautycounter products, which are actually available at Target for a limited time!

Charcoal Cleansing Bar: I have combination/oily skin and occasionally hormonal acne. This cleansing bar has helped with minimizing oil production, reducing my poor size and keeping my skin clear!

Balancing Face Oil: I put a few drops on my fingers and blend into my skin at night for some additional moisture and repair while I’m sleeping. I love how it absorbs so easily and doesn’t leave my skin greasy.

Stick (Face) Sunscreen: I have used this a couple of times when I was outside in the sun for a long period time. It is light and blends very well with no white tint. My husband actually uses this on his face everyday and loves it.

Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer: I’m still getting use to this one, as its’ name says it all. It’s definitely dewy, but it is light, smooth and blends very well. I love that it gives me the spf that I need, but also a little coverage, since I’m not a fan of foundation.

All in all, I’m in love with this skincare company and I can’t wait to try even more of their products, including the kids’ wash, body moisturizer, lipstick and eye shadows. Finally a company that truly is clean, healthy and safe!
